Privacy Policy
Effective: August 19, 2026
MyNotes is built around a simple idea: your journal should feel private. This policy explains what information MyNotes collects, why it is used, when it is sent to third-party service providers, and the choices you have.
Local-first by design. You can use the core editor without an account. Notes and journals created while using local mode are stored in your browser on that device. Premium cloud features are optional and require an account.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, display name, password credentials handled by our authentication provider, and account preferences.
- Your content: notes, journal entries, categories, tags, cover selections, personalization settings, and photos you choose to add. In local mode, this content remains in browser storage on your device and is not sent to MyNotes's cloud. If you enable Premium cloud sync, eligible content is stored in your private cloud account so it can synchronize across your devices. It is not made public or shared with other users.
- Support communications: messages and information you send when contacting support.
- Billing information: subscription status, plan information, transaction identifiers, and related billing metadata. Full payment-card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by MyNotes.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting, authentication, security, and email providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, and security logs when you use MyNotes. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and deliver the service.
