Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Pebbyls. By creating an account or purchasing Premium, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. You may use the local editor without creating an account.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create a Pebbyls account. If the law where you live requires parental or guardian consent at a higher age, you may use an account only with valid authorization. You must be legally able to enter into a paid subscription or have permission from the person responsible for the payment method.

2. Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your password and devices, and promptly notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by law.

3. Local-first storage

Pebbyls can store writing locally in your browser without an account. Local browser storage is convenient but is not a guaranteed backup. Browser cleanup, private-browsing restrictions, device loss, software changes, storage limits, or clearing site data can permanently remove local content.

4. Free account cloud limits

A Free account includes automatic cloud sync for up to 50 total Notes, Journal, and Quotes entries on one active device at a time. You may switch which device is active. Reaching the limit does not delete existing writing: existing cloud entries remain readable and editable, and additional writing may continue to save locally on the device.

5. Premium subscriptions

Pebbyls Premium is offered at the price and billing interval shown before checkout. Premium may include unlimited entries, unlimited synced devices, automatic cross-device synchronization, cloud backup, cloud photo backup, personalization sync, cloud export, and other features identified in the app.

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. You can manage payment details, invoices, and cancellation through the Stripe customer portal linked from your Pebbyls account. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout.

Taxes may be added when required. We may change future subscription pricing after reasonable notice; a price change will not retroactively alter an already-completed billing period.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload. You grant Pebbyls only the limited permission needed to host, process, back up, synchronize, display back to you, and otherwise operate the features you request. You represent that you have the necessary rights to content you upload.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use Pebbyls to break the law, infringe another person’s rights, distribute malware, probe or bypass security controls, access another user’s account or content, overload the service, automate abusive traffic, or interfere with normal operation. Do not attempt to bypass account, device, storage, or billing limits.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep Pebbyls available and protect stored content, but uninterrupted or error-free service is not guaranteed. Features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued for maintenance, security, legal, provider, or product reasons. When practical, we will provide notice of material changes that affect paid features.

9. Third-party services

Pebbyls relies on third-party providers, including Supabase, Stripe, and Vercel. Their services may be subject to separate terms and may experience interruptions outside our control. Links to third-party sites do not make Pebbyls responsible for those sites.

10. Suspension and account deletion

You may stop using Pebbyls or delete your account using the available account controls. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or third parties; address fraud, abuse, security, or nonpayment; or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Pebbyls is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or preservation of every copy of content. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Pebbyls and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from use of the service. For claims related to paid service, total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Pebbyls during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $25. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as Pebbyls changes. The effective date above will be updated when revised Terms are posted. Continued account use after updated Terms take effect means you accept the changes, except where applicable law requires a different form of consent.
